Welcome to The Podium Game, an interactive, social-network-compliant, synergistic, brand-focused multimedia experience featuring viral and compelling basketball-related web content.
So, like, there are videos and podcasts. And stuff.
This site was part of the central brainstorm of the HPBasketball Network. So much of Hardwood Paroxysm, and the web, is word heavy. I love writing. It’s why I do it so often. Sometimes, I manage to even write not completely terribly. But one of the things that I love about writing for the web is that you can use all these different mediums to express whatever it is you’re trying to convey.
And that’s the thought here. We’ll have a whole slew of podcasts with different personalities, different themes and formats. We’ll have original video productions, breakdowns of plays, and, God help us, Jordan’s horrendous photoshops.

But don’t worry, there’s going to be good stuff, too! Stuff like Drew Fleming’s Podium Game Show; photoshops from Jason Gallagher, Steve McPherson and Bo Churney; illustrations from Jesse Blanchard; breakdowns from Tom Westerholm and Tyler Bischoff; hangouts with Jeremy Conlin, and, of course, podcasts, loads of podcasts. We’ll have podcasts about legends of basketball past, talking to writers about their process and experiences; Voice On The Floor (oh yeah, we’re bringing it back), and just breaking down the game and league we love. And that’s just the start.
We’re not going to redefine what it means to cover basketball, but we’re going to try and make it a bit more involved, a bit more interactive…hell, a bit more fun. Want to help? Hit me up.
